Shine Homecare Have Their First Care Quality Commission Inspection

On the 20th December 2013 and 2nd January 2014, Shine Homecare had an unannounced inspection from the Care Quality Commission, which looked at the personal care or treatment records of people who use the service.

The inspection reported that we are compliant in meeting all the essential standards set by the Care Quality Commission. The report showed that people were asked for their consent before care was provided and were being cared for by staff who were aware of their needs and had received the appropriate training and support. This included safe administration of medication.

The Care Quality Commission also spoke with Service Users and their families. The report stated that ' People told us that they were 'happy' with the care that was being provided and that the care staff 'did their job well' and that the staff were 'fantastic' and 'incredibly flexible with notice'. Staff we spoke with told us they 'actually cared about people like they would care for their own family' and felt supported by the provider to care for people in a person centred manner.'
